The Formula 1® Engineering Scholarship will cover tuition fees and provide a maintenance grant for the four year duration of the course. For 2024-25, the total award for the year will be worth £20,000. Receipt of this award will not affect eligibility for a Cambridge Bursary. Find out more about our partnership with Formula 1.
The Cambridge Trust offers a small programme of Cambridge scholarships for undergraduate students who are set at the Overseas fee rate. Most of these awards are part-cost, offering a contribution towards the cost of studying at the University of Cambridge. Here you can find information on eligibility and how to apply.
Applicants submit their application for admission and funding (Gates Cambridge and other funding) via the University’s Graduate Application Portal. To be considered for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship you must complete the section to apply for admission to a course and a College place and the Gates Cambridge part of the funding section.
As such, the scholarships fully fund female and/or Black students to study AI-related fields at the University of Cambridge, these groups being currently under-represented. Scholars are also offered support from a DeepMind mentor, and have opportunities to attend leading AI academic conferences and DeepMind events.
