Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips (born Dennis Bradley Philips; July 17, 1947) is a Jamaican-born Canadian Islamic teacher, speaker, author, founder and chancellor of the International Open University, who lives in Qatar.
ABU AMEENAH BILAL PHILIPS is a Jamaican – Canadian Islamic scholar who converted to Islam in 1972. He completed a BA from the Islamic University of Medina, an M.A. from King Saud University in Riyadh, and a PhD in Islamic Theology from the University of Wales, UK (1994).
Dr. Bilal is the Dean of the Islamic Online University. He is also the Director of PERF (Professional Education and Research Foundation), and Supervising Director of Preston International College (www.prestonchennai.ac.in) and Al-Fajr International School (www.al-fajrinternational.com), Chennai, India.
