General upper secondary school Mostly the same subjects are studied in general upper secondary schools as in comprehensive education, but the studies are more demanding and independent.
For example, schools that follow the British Curriculum will have students starting on Key Stage 3 (KS3) for ages 11 to 14, and then move on to the 4th year of secondary school or KS4.
