Universitas Andalas (UNAND) is an Indonesian state university located in Padang City in West Sumatra with a community of more than 32,000 students. Offering 156 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Universitas Andalas was inaugurated in 1956 and ranked fourth in Indonesia according to the country’s Ministry of Research and Technology.
Admission in Andalas University was conducted through some mechanisms including selection from invited prospective students, writing tests and transfer program. Selection of invited prospective students was employed through PMDK or SNMPTN (National Entrance Exams of State Universities).
Universitas Andalas is the fourth oldest university in Indonesia and now a home for nearly 29,000 students. The university was established in 1956 following the Decree of Minister of Education and Culture No. 80016/Kab; 23 December 1955.
